OH. MY. GOD! The Dollar Store. Dam.mit! Sure, I mean why pay a freakin $1 when you can pay $12 for The Big Book of Stickers at ye' ole Birth Control as Retail Experience Store? Huh? I ask you?
God! Gooooooooooooooooooood!
You may have noticed a slight shift in the atmosphere this evening, a twinge perhaps on the back of your neck. If you listen closely you can probably even hear it....it's me sucking at packing. And by "suck" I mean I "suck" on a universal level. You see since I'm going to be staying with the in-laws at their time-share (I know! I can't even talk about it) and I have been obsessing rather abnormally about what I'm going to be wearing for the TWO full days I'll be there. Some people concern themselves with saving the planet, reducing the ozone depletion and world hunger, I concern myself with "are my arms going to look totally flabby in this shirt?" So of course I've bought no less than 374,323 outfits for the TWO days and yet? I hate them all. I must self tan and mightily. Also the amount of haircare products I'm schlepping is truly embarrassing. Especially considering it will be 10,000 degrees and in the desert. But I'm going to take them all because I am shallow and my haircare products are my woobie.
And this Amoxicillan? Is totally making me light headed and sort of sweaty. The ailment suffering continues just in case, you know? you were wondering.
So today instead of working I was obsessed with a Wii. I want a Wii, I am coveting the Wii and yet? The Wii is nowhere to be found. The Wii is elusive. Wii? does not want to play.
Yes, I am apparently going to speak in questions this evening. Let's just blame the antibiotics and go with it.
Seriously dudes, I am so light headed. What the hell is in Amoxicillan anyway?
The experience? Not entirely unpleasant to be honest.
Again: Others? World hunger. Me? Wii. Also, Amoxicillan.
Anyway I bought a Wii, on eBay as they are sold out everywhere because the capitalistic bastards on eBay bought them all. I'm hoping since it requires movement it will help in the flabby arm department.
Like you care right?! WELL YOU SHOULD! My arm flab People! Something has to be done.
Thank you guys so much for the advice on flying with Ms. Squirmy Pants. Don't think I'm above drugging my child for the flight, but alas the great Benadryl experiment in China yielded results not typical, as in it was equivalent to crack and the child was bouncing off the seats for a solid 4 hours. The dude behind us who was trying unsuccessfully to sleep had to endure a nonstop attempt by Ems at playing peek-a-boo. He was in fact bought many drinks. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go this one cold turkey, armed with astronomical amounts of Cheerios and fruit chews. I did heed your advice and kept all plane activities out of sight. They will be whipped out one at a time in what I imagine will be 10 minutes worth of interest.
As for me, I can only hope for the Amoxicillan buzz.
Wii rocks! Total impulse buy 2 weeks ago when I happened across one on the shelves at Best Buy. Hubby and I love it. Can't say enough about Ravman Raves Rabbits (goofy, but fun).
Enjoy!

And if you have an old cell phone that still works but has no service that may shut her up, I mean keep her quiet for a bit. I keep my old phone charged and in my purse for times when we're in public and LB is over it. Phone works and she has no idea there's no service attached.

I'm new to reading your blog and I really enjoy the sharing of your world, especially the inner one. You will have to know if the wii helps with the upper arm jiggle. YOu could be on to something....

I have to second Jacquie's suggestion of the old phone. Maggie loves mine. Also, I packed one of my old purses full of crap and it kept her quiet forEVER. We are flying to New York the first weekend in August so I'll be looking forward to see how your trip goes. I think Maggie and Emma may be cut from similar cloth.

The food thing is what we do. If we're flying in the am, I don't give her breakfast, flying in the afternoon, no lunch. My girl's an eater but there's so much to look at on a plane that it gets old faster than at home. I don't bother with toys, the barf bag is enough fun on it's own. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell I made the 14 hour flight home from China.

I am on Amox right now too. That woozy feeling makes you wonder what crack they slipped in there. It gives me headaches....

Getting on a plane with a toddler AND staying at your in-laws???? I can't decide if you are very brave, insane or just too drunk to know better. Good luck my friend. You're a better person than I am. That's for sure.

And at the dollar store you can get those little purses that have a gazillion pockets and you can fill them with stuff! Since EB seems to be a purse kind of gal, I think she will be amused. Note to self: bring along one of those mini bottles or arrange to have one when you arrive. It's like the carrot in front of the horse. It will be your reward for surviving. I second Ms Sparky's comment --you are brave. Have a great trip -- I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. Pink

Cough hard, peeing pants??? hahaha. I had to comment on the last post about that.
You will be fine even with the flabby arms and all. Wii I am sure will totally help that, in your dreams.
Just remember not to carry anymore that a quart size ziplock w/ only 4 oz of each of product or liquid as a carry on. CHECK all hair products in other words. Unless you plan on doing your hair on the plan with a squirmy pants Em..... check all hair products. Oh, and no ID for the wee one... Hey I work for an airlines and I KNOW!!!
Seriously, have a serious time and forget about the in-laws. I am sure Mom-in-law has the flabby arms and bad hair worst than you!

I too have an ear infection -- summer illness is the pits. I wanted to rip my ear off, but it's not as easy as it sounds. I also have had Amoxicillan side effects -- dizziness, nausea, anxiety...
May you get better soon and may the flight be easy as pie.
